A Neighborhood Appraiser

Located in Southeast Portland, I am sensitive to the characteristics of Portland’s unique neighborhoods. I have worked as an appraiser for 32 years, the past 20 years in Portland, OR. I live, raise a family and play as well as work in the Portland Metropolitan Area. This keeps me aware of the different nuances and the changing nature of the urban villages. I am well versed in all types of locational influences on value, such as schools, parks, stores, micro-climates, new development, walkability, bike routes and access to transit. I am fluent in the distinct architecture styles that exist throughout Portland and am skilled in recognizing the extent and value of renovations.

Educated

An Oregon State Certified Residential Appraiser, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of California, Santa Cruz and I am an Appraisal Qualifications Board Certified Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice Instructor. I take continuing education classes every year to expand my knowledge of the appraisal profession and refine my appraisal techniques.

Experienced

I appraise a wide variety of single family residences, condominiums and small residential income properties. I am comfortable appraising luxury properties and properties with acreage as well as smaller inner city urban properties and everything in between. I have also performed appraisals and review assignments for a wide variety of needs including estate, marriage dissolution, trust, assisting both buyers and sellers in determining a fair sale price, and for lending purposes. In the 32 years that I have been appraising Real Estate, I have seen several booms and crashes and I have become skilled at reading the market and using my knowledge to perform accurate appraisals that reflect current conditions. I am relentless in uncovering all aspects of an appraisal problem and provide a thorough, unbiased opinion of value for an affordable fee and reasonable turnaround.
